Surgery Patient Information
Pre-Operative Medicine
You will need to make a list of the name of all your medications
and their dosages that you are taking. This list should be given
to Ron Fernau, our physician assistant and/or the hospital prior
to surgery. You will be told which medications you may take the
morning of surgery.
ALL MEDICATIONS THAT HAVE ASPIRIN IN THEM SHOULD BE DISCONTINUED
7-10 DAYS PRIOR TO SURGERY. THIS INCLUDES MANY OF THE ANTI-INFLAMMATORIES
THAT PATIENTS ARE TAKING. SUBSTITUTIONS WILL BE GIVEN BY DR. JONES
FOR SOME MEDICATIONS.
(LODINE AND RELAFEN ARE ALLOWED TO BE TAKEN UP UNTIL THE DAY PRIOR
TO SURGERY)
All patients are asked to take vitamins prior to surgery and after
surgery. This will help you with the healing process.
VITAMIN B COMPLEX
VITAMIN C 1000MG

tablets you may take.
THE DAY PRIOR TO SURGERY PLEASE CALL 713-773-2273 AND SPEAK TO
CHERYL AND VERIFY THE TIME YOU ARE TO BE AT THE HOSPITAL, AS IT
IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.
All times of surgery are approximate and some surgeries take longer
than anticipated. We will do our best to make the waiting time between
your arrival at the hospital and your surgery as short as possible.
Occasionally there are delays because we want to give all of our
patients the attention they deserve. (You would not want dr. Jones
to hurry on your surgery, if you were the patient on the table so
he can make time schedule.)
